Entering Canada by train
There are five daily transborder connections between the US rail network Amtrak and VIA Rail Canada.

Getting around Canada by train
Most passenger services inside Canada are operated by VIA Rail Canada.
Private companies include Rocky Mountain Railtours (chartered trains between June and September along the Calgary-Banff-Vancouver route through the Rockies), the BC Rail (Vancouver - Squamish), the Polar Bear Express (Cochrane - Moosonee) and Ontario's Algoma Central Railway (Hearst - Sault Ste-Marie).
